Dr. Rachel DiSesa has been with the University of Florida since 2006.  She is the Assistant Director of Enrollment Marketing for the College of Pharmacy, supporting PharmD, Graduate, Distance Education, and Continuing Education programs.

In her previous role at the College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. DiSesa worked to identify areas of clinical services growth and coordinate business development opportunities, overseeing the marketing and outreach activities for the UF Veterinary Hospitals.

Rachel earned her bachelor’s from the University of Phoenix and her MS and PhD from the University of Florida.

Rachel found a home in veterinary medicine, even though she is not a veterinarian. She said, “This profession offers so many other ways to participate in improving the lives of both animals and humans. I truly believe that our college of veterinary medicine sets the standard for all other academic institutions. Seeing first-hand the incredible talent and skills our students, faculty, and staff possess makes me grateful to be part of the UF and the UF Veterinary Hospitals.”

Her first gift to the college was less than $10, and that was when the college was wrapping up a capital campaign fund to build the new UF Small Animal Hospital. She continues to donate because she feels her contributions, when combined with the gifts of others, make a more significant impact on veterinary medicine than she could make alone.

When talking to others about the college, Rachel says, “Part of my role is to approach industry sponsors about ways they can contribute to faculty and staff programs at the UF Veterinary Hospitals. I feel it is much easier to have those conversations when I am a donor myself.”
